Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 May 2026
Baga is a private, invite-only four-player card game for iOS. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, where it is stored, and your choices around it. The short version: we collect only what is needed to run multiplayer games, we don't sell data, we don't run third-party analytics, and we don't share anything with advertisers.
What we collect
Profile information
- Apple ID (required) — Baga uses Sign in with Apple as its only sign-in method. We adopt Apple's anonymised user identifier as your in-app player ID so your profile follows you across devices and reinstalls. We never receive your real email address unless you choose to provide it.
- Display name — shown to other players at your table.
- Profile photo (optional) — stored in Firebase Storage and shown as your in-game avatar.
Game data
- Live game state — your hand, seat, plays, and round results are written to Firebase Realtime Database so all four players see the same table in real time. The data persists until the room is closed.
- Game history — completed games are stored against your player ID so you can review past rounds in the History screen.
- Leaderboard counters — aggregate wins, losses, and Bagas, shown on the in-app Leaderboard.
- Chat and reactions — text and emoji reactions sent in a game room.
Device permissions
Baga requests these iOS permissions only when you use the feature that needs them. Declining a permission disables that feature; it doesn't prevent you from using the rest of the app.
- Camera — only used to take a profile photo.
- Photo Library — only used to pick a profile photo.
- Microphone — only used while push-to-talk voice chat is active during a game.
- Local Network — used so voice clips and game updates can flow quickly between players on the same network, and to discover the development Metro server in the development build.
- Notifications — used to alert you when a friend starts a game so you can drop in.
What we do not collect
- No location data.
- No contacts.
- No advertising identifiers (IDFA).
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No payment information — Baga is free and has no in-app purchases.
Where data is stored
Game state, profiles, and leaderboard data are stored in Google Firebase (Realtime Database and Cloud Storage), which acts as our hosting provider. Firebase's privacy practices are described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy. Your anonymous player ID is also stored on your device in iOS local storage so the app can recognise you on next launch.
Who we share data with
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing. Information you put into a game room (your display name, avatar, plays, chat messages) is visible to the other players at your table — that is the point of a multiplayer game. The Leaderboard and Active Games screens show display names and avatars to other Baga users.
Your choices
Change your display name or photo
Open the Profile screen in the app and edit your name or tap your avatar to choose a new photo. Changes propagate to all rooms you join after.
Sign out of Apple
Because Sign in with Apple is the only sign-in method, signing out ends your Baga session entirely. Re-authorise from the launch screen next time you want to play. If you want to disconnect Baga from your Apple ID more permanently, you can revoke access from iOS Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple → Baga → Stop Using Apple ID.
Delete your data
Email support@bagame.app with the subject "Delete my Baga data" and include the display name on your profile. We will remove your profile, leaderboard record, and game history within 7 days. Records of games you played in are stored against your player ID, so removing your ID removes your involvement from those records as well.
Stealth Mode
Hosts can enable Stealth Mode on a room from the lobby gear icon. The room is hidden from Active Games (room code only), and the result is skipped on the Leaderboard and Game History.
Children
Baga is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Baga, please contact us and we will delete the information.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify users in the app. Continued use of Baga after a change means you accept the updated policy.
